Short answer: book early in the school year, because prom dates cluster in May and June. Put the school name and class year on the template, ask the venue where the booth can go, and plan for one print per student. A self-serve booth runs the whole night for one flat price, so no teacher has to staff it.

Book before spring
Most Niagara and Hamilton proms land on a handful of Fridays and Saturdays in late spring, the same weekends as weddings. Booking in the fall or winter gives the school its pick of dates. A deposit holds the date, and we send the agreement and invoice to the school or parent council.
Make the template the keepsake
- School name, class year and “Prom” is the classic layout. Add the theme if there is one.
- Use school colours, or match the decorations.
- Students tend to keep a 2×6 strip in a wallet or phone case, which is why strips are the popular choice for prom.
Browse layouts on the backdrops and templates page.
Ask the venue three things
- Where can the booth go? Near the dance floor beats a hallway.
- Is there a standard outlet within reach?
- What time can vendors load in? We set up before students arrive.
The booth does not need wifi. Photos text out once there is a signal, and every shot lands in the gallery. See how much space and power a photo booth needs.
How many prints?
Plan on at least one print per student; most groups pile in more than once. The full package includes 300 2×6 strips, unlimited, so a big graduating class is no problem. Use the print calculator to check, and compare packages and pricing.
Props and the gallery
Tell us it is a school event and we pack a school-friendly prop bin. After the night, the school gets one gallery link to share with students and parents. More on prom and school dance photo booths.
