Short answer: no. A photo booth takes photos, prints them and saves them without any internet connection. Wifi only adds live extras: photos texted to guests instantly and your online gallery filling up during the event. Without wifi, those happen after the event instead.

What to ask your venue
- Is there guest or vendor wifi, and what is the password?
- Does it reach the room and the spot where the booth will stand?
- Does it need a login page? Booths cannot click through a sign-in screen.

Can the booth use my phone as a hotspot?
It can, but a phone hotspot often struggles with a steady stream of photos. Venue wifi or a dedicated connection works better.
Do guests lose their photos if there is no wifi?
No. Every photo is saved on the booth and uploaded to the gallery afterwards. Guests who asked for a text receive it once the photos upload.
